FAQ

No metal wires and brackets

Because there are no metal wires and brackets, Invisalign is more comfortable than traditional braces. And because they are removable, eating, brushing and flossing are no problem. You can still enjoy your favorite foods and smile without holding back. With Invisalign, there's nothing to hide.

Proven Results

In both clinical research and in orthodontic practices nationwide, Invisalign has been proven effective at straightening teeth. Treatment takes about the same length of time as traditional braces and is far more comfortable. Thousands of patients are taking advantage of this revolutionary treatment.

Diagnosis and Treatment Plan by an Invisalign-trained orthodontist

Our office will give you an initial examination to determine if Invisalign treatment is right for you. If it appears that Invisalign is an option, we will take photographs, x-rays, and an impression of your teeth, then submit them to our consulting orthodontic specialist. He will then complete further diagnostic analysis to verify that Invisalign will  work for you and create a treatment plan that will determine exactly how the teeth are straightened. At that  time, we will be able to let you know if you qualify for orthodontic insurance benefits and the estimated cost and length of treatment.  When the treatment plan is complete, your records will be sent to Invisalign along with the orthodontist's instructions. Using the latest advances in 3-D computer technology, Invisalign will translate the orthodontist's instructions into a series of precisely customized aligners. You will wear each set of aligners for about two weeks. Each set of aligners will gradually move your teeth closer and closer to the desired result. You will need to wear these aligners all the time except when you are eating, drinking, or cleaning your teeth.

Convenient treatment at our office

Throughout treatment, we will arrange for check-up appointments about every six weeks to make sure that treatment is progressing as predicted. Our consulting orthodontist will also follow your treatment by reviewing new digital photographs of your teeth. As treatment nears completion, the orthodontist will design a retention plan to help you keep your smile for life.

How long does Invisalign treatment take and how much does it cost?

The duration and cost of the treatment depends on the severity of your particular case, which determines the number of aligners you need. You'll wear each aligner for two weeks. So, on the average it can take between 18-24 months.

How often must 1 wear my aligners?

Invisalign ONLY works while you are wearing the aligners. We recommend that you wear your aligners full-time, day and night, except to eat and drink, brush and floss your teeth.

Are there restrictions on what I can eat and drink?

Unlike traditional orthodontics, you can usually eat and drink whatever you desire because you remove your aligners. Thus, there is no need to change your normal eating habits of any of your favorite foods or snacks, unless instructed otherwise.

Will wearing the Invisalign aligners affect my speech?

Like all orthodontic treatments, aligners may temporarily affect your speech, and you may have a slight lisp for a day or two. However, as your tongue gets used to having aligners in your mouth, any lisp or minor speech impediment caused by the aligners should disappear.

Will the treatment be painful?

Most people experience tooth soreness for a  few days after starting each new stage. This is normal. It is a sign that the Invisalign aligners are working - sequentially moving your teeth to their final destination. This soreness should gradually go away a couple of days after you insert each new aligner in the series.
